The Adventure Ahead

Day 1: Lima - Cusco
Arrive to Cusco and transfer to hotel.
PM: City tour of Cusco 3400 m., the Cathedral, Koricancha (the temple of the sun) ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay 3600m (3h).
Overnight stay in Cusco

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas. Chinchero, Moray, Maras, Ollantaytambo
Full day tour Sacred Valley. Drive to Chinchero 33km (1h). Visit the market and ruins 3650m (2h). Then continue the trip to visit the Moray terraces, after we will visit the Salt pans of Maras (2h). Lunch at local family. Drive to Ollanta (1.5h), visit the ruins (2h).
Return to Cusco.

Day 3: Full day Machu Picchu
AM: Early transfer to train station, train to Aguas Calientes (4 hrs)
arrive and bus ride to Machu Picchu (30'). Guided visit Machu Picchu 2460m (3h).
PM: Return to Aguas Calientes. Train to Cusco 112km (4h) Transfer to hotel.

Day 4: Full day Rainbow mountain
Very early, we will collect you from your hotel in Cusco by a private vehicle with driver and guide, we will drive south on the main road to Sicuani/Puno until arrive to Cusipata community, where the car will leave, it will be time to start the 8.25km/5.1mi uphill walk to the Rainbow Mountain. The slope will be gradual on firm ground through pastures, passing small settlements and herds of alpacas, it will be a spectacular walk with views of Ausangate and the other snow peaks.

Nothing can prepare us for the spectacular sight of Vinicunca with its beautiful colours spreading across the horizon. At 5,100 meters /16,732 feet. We will have 360 degrees view of the Ausangate snow-caps on one side and the multi-coloured Vinicunca on the other side – it is pure magic! Return to Cusco.

Day 5: Cusco - Puno
Transfer to bus station, shared tourist bus to Puno 3650m. 396km (8h) including visit along the route: The Inca temple of Raqchi 3329m and the charming village of Andahuaylillas 3024 m. with its church, which has been called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. Arrive to Puno and transfer to hotel.

Day 6: Lake Titicaca - Uros Amantani 02 days
Our trip begins with a transfer to the port of Puno for the three and a half hour boat trip to Amantani. On our way to the island we will visit the artificial floating islands of the Uros, who inhabit the artificial totora reed islands on Lake Titicaca, are the descendants of the oldest race on earth. However, very little is actually known about them. Their most characteristic tradition is their use of the aquatic totora reed, which they use to build their houses, boats and the very islands on which they live, which are made from thick layers of reed which are replaced periodically.

Then we will go to Amantani island, is similar to Taquile but much larger, the islands have simple restaurants, there is a plentiful supply of lake trout, and visitors who stay for a night will find themselves sharing a few moments in the peaceful lives of these marvelous people.

Day 7: Taquile islands
Trip to Taquile Island the most fascinating on the lake (1.5h). The backdrop of the snow-capped Cordillera Real on the far side completes a splendid picture. The people wear colourful traditional clothe (3h). Return to Puno (2.5h)

Day 8: Juliaca - Lima
Pick up and transfer to Juliaca airport.
